Mom Friendly Summer Vacation Wardrobe Capsule

 

A couple of weeks ago, I was helping one of my friends pack for her summer vacation via text messages.  She would send me an outfit selfie and ask for my advice on what pieces I thought looked best together.  After a couple of pictures, I soon began to realize that she was packing her suitcase by planning out an outfit for each day.  I realized that I too use to think of packing my suitcase that way.  I’d spend hours planning out the perfect vacation outfits, but then I’d end up wearing the same items over and over again.  For example, last year’s vacation to the beach in California (read about that trip HERE).  I planned so many cute beach outfits, but once I got there, the weather was much cooler than I had anticipated and everything we did was much more casual than I thought.  Now when I pack for a trip, I try to stick with casual clothes that I can re-wear on different days in many different ways.  Similar to how I packed for my Christmas trip home last year (see how I packed for that trip HERE!)

 

For today’s post, I’m taking my current mom-friendly summer wardrobe and planning out 12 days of outfits.  These are the clothes I’m currently wearing, so if I were to go on a trip again with my family, I would pack simple, light, and casual.  I feel like that is the key to keeping your wardrobe extremely mom-friendly when traveling with your kids.
