Helping women love what they wear on a budget

Babysense Video Monitor Review

September 28, 2020 by Katie Haller

Babysense video monitor review #babymonitor #babyvideomonitor

As a parent, we are always concerned about the safety of our children, especially when they are babies.  From the moment they are born we start to worry.  When I brought my children home from the hospital, I didn’t want them to be far from me, especially at night.  It was important for my babies to sleep close to me in those first few months so that I could be sure they were safe.  I’d often find myself waking up in the middle of the night just to make sure that they were still breathing.  With Jack, I kept him in our room until he was 3 months old, then moved him into his own room to his crib.  His room was right next to our bedroom and I could hear him easily with the door opened.  I never registered for a baby monitor, because at the time we had a little one-story condo and I didn’t have a need for it.  The second-time-around with Anna, things are a little different.

When we moved back to Michigan a little over a year ago, we weren’t sure where we wanted to live and we also weren’t sure how long we would be living here for.  So we found a rental house to live in.  It’s big enough for our family and the right price, but it’s not as functional as I would like it to be for a family of 4.  It’s a split level house and the master bedroom is upstairs and the two other bedrooms are downstairs.  I was a little uneasy when we first moved into the house to have Jack downstairs by himself, but he’s been doing great with it.  As for the new baby, I’m not ready to have her that far away from me yet.  I knew I was going to need some sort of video monitoring system before I would ever feel comfortable enough to have my baby sleep on a completely different floor than me.

I was thrilled when Babysense gifted me their 5″ HD Babysense Video Baby Monitor and the Babysense 7 Baby Breathing Movement Monitor to try out for a review.  It was just what I was looking for.  I am loving these products so much.  Some of my favorite features on the video monitor is the large screen with a crisp clear picture, and the 2-way microphone.  I also like that it doesn’t use wifi, which makes the cameras secure and hack-free.  The 7 baby breathing movement monitor goes under the crib mattress and is extra sensitive to sense any changes in the baby’s movements or breathing.  This gives me some extra reassurance that I will be alerted if anything is not right.

I like that the video baby monitor came with 2 cameras because we are able to put one camera in Anna’s room and the other camera in Jack’s room.  I’m still not ready to leave Anna in her room all night long yet, but we’ve been slowly doing more naps in her crib and I love that I can keep an eye on her when I’m in the other rooms in the house.  As for the camera in Jack’s room, it’s been amazing to have.  Jack is 4, so I trust him in his room alone, but I’ve always wondered what he does in there because he’s always so quiet in the morning.  I like to check in on him in the morning and say good morning through the microphone.  I will usually tell him that I am on my way down to get him or I will play some music for him while he waits.  It’s now becoming part of his morning routine.

I’m so happy that I have our Babysense baby monitors!  They definitely give me peace of mind and make our house a little more functional for our family.

Happy Mother’s Day!! 💕 Today I am truly embracing this day and remembering how much I always wanted to be a mom!

I recently came across a journal entry I wrote 10 years ago on Mother’s Day—right after my second miscarriage. I wrote that I was ready to be a mom, but I was so scared and worried about our future. I didn’t know when and if it would actually happen.

One month later, I was pregnant with my son.

And now here I am, ten years later—tired, busy, deeply grateful, and fully embracing this season I once wanted so so bad!

To every mom today—in the waiting, in the chaos, or missing the days that flew by—I see you. We are all in this together! 💕
