The holidays are over and now it’s time to head back to work. I always like to start off the new year refreshed and motivated. Some of you may have made a new year goal to dress cuter. I always feel like my outfit can help me have a more productive day, so when I was working I made it a goal to always wear something that I felt cute and confident in. Winter can be hard to stay creative though. I always find myself in an outfit rut in January. That’s why today I want to share 4 different wardrobe pieces that can help upgrade your workwear wardrobe this winter!

1.) Pleated skirt
I love pleated skirts because they are a year-round clothing piece. They fit into every season and you may not think of wearing them in the winter, but they can be the perfect wardrobe piece to upgrade your winter look.
2.) Statement Blouse
Instead of wearing a traditional button-down blouse with a pencil skirt or back pants, try a statement blouse. Something with a fun pattern, new texture, or puffy sleeves. It will automatically upgrade your look.
3.) Colored pants
When most people want to add color to their outfit they would probably reach for a top that as color and stick to a neutral color pant. I think that a fun way to switch up color in an outfit is by wearing a color in your pant. It gives the outfit a different dynamic.
4.) Different textures
Bringing in a different texture like faux leather or suede can give your work look an upgrade in a fun way. An easy way to do that while still feeling professional is to switch out your traditional pencil skirt for a skirt with a different material.
