This is my first blog post of the summer because I’ve been super busy sailing the Caribbean this past month. My family and I went on two cruises in June, so today I wanted to share what I wore on my Caribbean cruises. If you have a Caribbean cruise in your future, hopefully this post will give you lots of inspiration!

All about both cruises:
We sailed on the Carnival Magic for both of our trips. When we booked the cruises back in November, we chose them based on the destinations—so it was just by chance that they ended up being on the same ship. It turned out to be both a good and a bad thing. By our second cruise, we were very familiar with the ship and had even gotten to know some of the staff, which was nice. But part of me wished we could have tried something new and experienced a different ship, but I’m sure we will have the chance next year!
On our first cruise, we were scheduled to visit Roatán, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; and Cozumel, Mexico. Unfortunately, the winds were too strong for the ship to dock in Roatán, so we had to skip that stop, which was really disappointing. We did get off the ship at the other two ports and spent time in the port areas with the kids. We checked out some gift shops, grabbed local beers for us, and virgin daiquiris for the kids.
On our second cruise, the ports were more beach-focused: Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas, Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, and Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos. These stops were perfect for relaxing by the water, and we spent most of our time hanging out at the beaches and pools.
The rest of the time was all about enjoying the ship. We spent a lot of time at the water slides—the kids loved them. They also went to Camp Ocean, the kids’ program on the ship. They made lots of friends and had so much fun with all the activities. It also gave Kevin and me a little alone time to catch some shows and visit the casino in the evenings.
What I Wore on my Caribbean Cruise
Cruise vacations are always a great opportunity for me to wear some of the fun dresses I have in my closet. Carnival is a pretty casual, family-friendly cruise line, so when it comes to planning cruise outfits, I try to keep things comfortable and practical while still having fun with my style. A couple of months ago, I shared some of the outfits I planned to wear (read the post: Cruise Wardrobe: What to Wear for a Caribbean Cruise). Here’s what I actually ended up wearing!
Afternoon Outfits:

What I wore for boarding day on the first cruise.

Second cruise boarding day outfit.

Beach/Pool Outfits

I wore this Amazon beach cover a lot! Here I am at Half Moon Cay in it:
Bathing suit cover-up || Sunglasses || Hat

I wore this long-sleeved Amazon cover-up on the ship over my bathing suit. It was a bit warm for the Caribbean in June, but it worked nicely in the air-conditioned areas
Cover-up || Flip flops || Sunglasses || Hat

This black cover-up is a go-to for me. I wore it in Turks and Caicos.
Cover-up || Flip flops || Hat || Sunglasses

I wore this one-piece in 2 different colors and repeated it a few times.
Bathing suit || Hat || Sunglasses

This is one of my favorite mom-friendly two-piece bathing suits, and I have it in two colors. I wore these suits a lot on the trip

I was so excited to wear this beautiful maxi skirt finally!

This is one of the most comfortable maxi dresses:

I wore this dress on the second formal night of the first cruise. It was another dress that I was excited to wear!

This dress was perfect to wear to dinner on the day we were in Mexico:
Dress (code: THRIFTYWIFE10) || Sandals || Bracelet

I wore this Walmart dress on both cruises. I love the print on it!

I wore this dress on the first formal night of the second cruise:
Dress || Belt (similar) || Sandals || Bracelet

I was so mad that I didn’t get a good picture of this white dress. Only a blurry over-the-head picture while we were walking back to the room. It’s such a good vacation white dress, and hopefully I’ll get a better shot on our next cruise!
Dress || Sandals || Purse (Similar)

I wore this dress the night we were at Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. The winds were high that evening, so the ship couldn’t leave port at the scheduled time. It gave us a chance to walk around and see the island at night.

I love the colors in this maxi dress! I wore this on our last night:
